The National Pharmaceutical Council (NPC), in conjunction with the Leonard D. Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics at the University of Southern California, is now accepting applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Health Care Policy.
“Consumers want access to high-quality care and treatments that work. In the US policy environment, however, there is an ongoing debate about what evidence is needed to inform payer and provider decision-making, how the value of treatments and services will be assessed, what level of access to treatments is needed, and how to ensure continued health care innovation,” said NPC Chief Science Officer Robert Dubois, MD, PhD. “It’s an exciting and challenging time in health care, and this opportunity will place a post-doctoral fellow at the heart of the debate.”
This fellowship opportunity is unique as it seeks to bridge the gap between health care research and policy analysis in the United States. The Washington, DC-based research fellow will have access to respected researchers and mentors from both USC and the biopharmaceutical industry, as well as gain hands-on health policy research experience and have opportunities to engage with diverse stakeholders.
The NPC/USC Schaeffer Center Fellowship is open to post-doctoral researchers with a desire to understand and study US health care policy. Candidates should be US citizens or permanent residents, and be within five years of having completed their doctoral degrees. The fellow will be an employee of NPC and will have an office in Washington, DC.

Applications are being accepted now through February 1, 2016. The fellowship will run from July 2016 – June 2018.
