USC president C. L. Max Nikias presided over the groundbreaking for Verna and Peter Dauterive Hall — the university’s first interdisciplinary social sciences building. The building was made possible by a $30 million gift from USC trustee Verna B. Dauterive, in memory of her late husband, Peter W. Dauterive. With this new research center, prominent leaders will be able to achieve breakthroughs across a full range of social science and impact the lives of many.
